Texas Solar Market Expansion by GAF Energy

Posted on August 1, 2022

The debut of Timberline SolarTM, GAF Energy’s next-generation solar roof, was announced in 2021. Only Timberline Solar™, which only needs a nail gun for installation, is a roofing system that directly incorporates solar technology into conventional roofing processes and materials. The new item, which was developed and put together at GAF Energy’s combined research and development and manufacturing site in San Jose, California, promises to result in a sharp increase in the use of clean energy in homes. Globally, a huge number of businesses have continued to use the roofing system.

GAF Energy is establishing a new factory to accommodate the demand for Timberline Solar™, the company’s next-generation solar roof which features the first nailable solar shingle ever created. By constructing a second production plant, GAF Energy will be able to increase the production of its solar roof, add to the number of American jobs, and expand into a new area of the country, all of which will contribute to their ultimate objective of generating energy from every roof.

A record number of inquiries from homeowners and roofers for Timberline Solar™ were made by GAF Energy immediately after the product’s release earlier this year, and the rate of growth doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. With a capacity increase of 500% and an increase in yearly output of 300 megawatts, this new facility will make GAF Energy the largest manufacturer of solar roofing in the globe.

The response to the Timberline Solar roof has been overwhelmingly positive from customers and roofers, and we’re thrilled to be increasing capacity to meet that rising demand, according to Martin DeBono, president of GAF Energy.

“We started Timberline Solar since we thought that if there was a more dependable, long-lasting, and appealing option for consumers to choose from, they would choose solar more frequently. The market has supported our hypothesis, so we are now working to make it true and create the clean energy future in the United States.”

Access to the expanding talent in the region will be made possible by Georgetown, a center in Texas and the city with the fastest population growth in the nation. More than 260 new clean energy manufacturing jobs will be created in the United States after construction on the 450,000-square-foot production plant is finished. These jobs will be shift-based and available around the clock.

The idea of GAF Energy to provide energy from every roof is also supported by Georgetown. “Georgetown has a long history of renewable energy leadership, so it is the ideal location for us to create a better future of solar,” DeBono added. In order to produce clean energy, GAF Energy will use clean energy since it was the first major city to switch to a 100 percent renewable energy source.

In advance of the building of the facility, GAF Energy has received a warm welcome from Georgetown’s authorities.

“We are thrilled that GAF Energy chose Georgetown as the location for their project,” stated Georgetown Mayor Josh Schroeder. “We are thrilled that their revolutionary product will be created here in our backyard since it will transform the market as we understand it.” Last year saw the completion and start-up of GAF Energy’s first manufacturing facility in San Jose, California.
